Avoid all corn products, including corn on the cob, popcorn, corn chips, corn tortillas, cornstarch, corn syrup, high fructose corn syrup, corn meal, corn oil, and dextrose.
Looking for corn alternatives? Substitute the same amount of potato starch for corn starch. When a recipe calls for small amounts of corn starch, you can use one and a half times the amount of tapioca starch or arrowroot starch (also referred to as arrowroot powder).
I have not found a good substitute for corn chips. I do, however, love sweet potato chips.
